- どんな中学・高校生活を送っていましたか？

I went to a large junior high school in Southern California. I was in the orchestra and played the violin, and on the weekends I competed in youth track meets. I also started to study Japanese using a Japanese podcast, but I could only say a few phrases. I had a habit of drawing all over my homework and worksheets. My science teacher would scold me often, but at the end of the school year she wrote “Never stop drawing.” in my yearbook.
My high school had over three thousand students. I was the team captain for my track and field long and triple jumping team. The track team had over three hundred members! I studied French very hard during this time, but unfortunately I did not retain a large percentage of it after I started my official Japanese classes in college. I still drew all over my homework. I was in a lot of advanced classes, so I was a very busy student! On weekends I was either studying or at track practice/competitions. Even so, I had a great time with friends and family during this time. Thanks to track and orchestra I got to travel a lot and see a lot of places. It was a very rewarding experience!

The general atmosphere is one that makes me want to try my best! Everyone is kind and understanding, and there is always someone to go to if you need advice.The studens are outgoing and hard working. They make me want to work hard too!
- 100万円と一カ月の休みがあったら何をしますか？

If I had 1 million yen and a month off I would visit every prefecture in Japan. I have only visited 19 so far! I enjoy hiking very much and have hiked along various portions of the Nakasendo. I want to complete the entire Nakasendo route!
受験生のみなさんへのメッセージ
It’s ok if you make mistakes. Mistakes are a part of life. I have made many mistakes in my life, but it has made my life more interesting. To never fail is to never learn. Learn from your mistakes and try again until you succeed! Find something that you're passionate about and stick to it! It's okay if you don't have a clear dream yet, and it's okay if your dream changes as you grow up. Just try to find something that interests you and explore as much as you can!

趣味
I enjoy hiking, climbing, bouldering, and exercising. I also enjoy making pottery and drawing. If you ever go to any pottery exhibitions in Toki you might see some of my artwork! I also enjoy listening to music, dancing, and cooking. When I have the time, I love traveling and exploring the local area! If you have any local spots you recommend please let me know!
